Commercial building giant Tishman Speyer wants to construct a 33-story Green highrise at the corner of Second and Howard streets. We’re not just talking Green but Gold as in LEED(Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Gold standard which represents the second highest level. This high level thinking could mean that the highrise contains elements such as: green vegetated roof, on-site backwater treatment system, and highly efficient irrigation technology.
The location would be right near the proposed new transit center. The City has made Green building a priory so Tishman can’t exactly be upset that they’ll be on the fast track to receive preferential permitting. Thanks to the SF Biz Times for the Green scoop.
