Green Thinking at Winter Festival

winte-market.jpgMost of the people wandering around San Francisco’s Winter Market appeared only to be concerned with fashion, design and colors of the newest fabrics, furniture and living accessories but for a couple hours SF Green architects David Baker and Anne Fougeron, Green entrepreneur Jordan Harris, and interior designer Jennifer Gadiel discussed the Green aspect of Bay Area living.

Baker, who rides his bike all over town, mentioned how he was raised in a solar house in Arizona, so the Green building remains in his roots. He’s working on several high density Green SF projects and mentioned, “Green housing is about how much energy you use per person.”  Fougeron mentioned several of her projects and was especially pleased with her efforts to give back to the city with a senior housing project and the first SF library with a photovoltaic system. Harris, sporting green canvas shoes, talked about his success bringing celebs (Cameron Diaz, Robin Williams, Brad Pitt to mention a few) to bring sexiness to the Green front. He also talked about his more environmentally friendly Ozocar service in NY and Gadiel talked about the good old Arterra condo project in Mission Bay.
