PCBC - Do You Have That in Green?

With so many builders in town for the PCBC (Pacific Coast Builder Conference) it made our little Green hearts go pitter patter to see a sizeable gathering for the Builder-to-Builder Green Summit in a day long Tuesday pre-conference. Maybe builders do care about Green building or at least their future bottom lines but with a plethora of Green minded speakers and guests the builders could only be that much more motivated. We especially liked the words of Matt May (author of Elegant Solutions) as he inspired the crowd with talk of how the Prius came to be after the president of Toyota gave his designers and engineers a blank slate in which to create the ubiquitous gas pinching auto.

Can we help it if we like the writers? Susan Susanka (who has written the Not So Big House series) intrigued much of the audience with her philosophy for not just creating a better house but a better life. She thinks that house building shouldn’t be black and white (we think that it should be Green) or right or wrong and seemed genuinely interested in improving everyone’s lives. She also mentioned that everyone should chill out for five minutes each day. We’ll start now.
